Crown Aerosol Packaging North America has expanded its production of slim line aerosol packaging on the back of strong demand for portable and convenient products.

The 45mm diameter steel containers were originally produced in a facility in Canada, but strong demand from the US has prompted the company to open additional production in its Spartanburg facility in South Carolina.

Travel sizes for increased convenience

According to the company, the slim containers are suitable for a range of cosmetic and personal care products including shaving cream, sun tan lotion, and body spray, and their smaller diameter makes them suitable for travel ranges.

In particular, the company said the shorter products in the range (those measuring 96mm in height) were particularly good as portable products as they meet airport carry-on regulations.

President of Crown aerosol packaging North America, Jim Wilson, highlighted how offering travel sizes can help build brand loyalty.

“Cosmetic and personal care purchases are very intimate choices for consumers, with many staying loyal to brands that have proven to work for them. Incorporating packaging that enhances convenience and portability so the product fits easily into consumers’ busy lifestyles can build brand loyalty even more,” he said.

In addition to the convenience of the products, the company has underlined their practicality, arguing that their ‘slender profile’ makes them ‘easier to grip for women’s smaller hands’.

Crown’s slimline aerosols are made from steel which the company said is fully recyclable.
