TPR Holdings has announced the acquisition of Trilogy Fragrances, a developer and manufacturer of natural and organic fragrances for the personal care industry, as it looks for further growth in the natural and organics sector.

The New York-based investor has provided transition services for Shiseido and P&G in the past and has turned to Trilogy due to its recognition in the personal care sector as a developer of natural and organic fragrances.

Natural and organic fragrance an attractive market

“The natural and organic fragrance sector is an attractive market. As a leader in the natural fragrance category, Trilogy offers a fantastic platform for strong expansion and further category growth,” said Brian Robinson, President of TPR Holdings.

The formerly family run fragrance firm has been in business for over 75 years with its majority shareholders, the Pisano family, focusing on the core business of ingredients.

“In our decision to sell the business to TPR we considered that they were an organization with proven global expertise and substantial resources that should provide a more appropriate fit for Trilogy Fragrances,” said Richard Pisano Jr. formerly of Trilogy Fragrances.

Positive move for those involved

Of the transaction, Irwin Simon, CEO of The Hain Celestial Group, a natural and organic product company in both the personal care and food market, of whom Trilogy is a qualified vendor, commented that the move would prove to be a positive one for the parties involved.

“With strategic resources now provided by TPR Holdings I feel it will only expand Trilogy’s place as a leading supplier in the Natural and Organic fragrance category,” he said.

“I have confidence in the management of TPR and what they will do for Trilogy going forward, which in turn will result in the expansion of Trilogy into additional categories of ours and ultimately enhance its growth. We look forward to a seamless transition and an expanded relationship.” Simon added.

TPR were keen to announce that all of Trilogy’s current staff and management will be retained as well as the company’s headquarters in Lakewood New Jersey.
