Beiersdorf North America announce changes to management team
The changes see current president of Beiersdorf North America, Iain Holdings, promoted to the global role of corporate vice president, global sales strategy, and will position him in the company’s global headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
Holdings has been with the company for 20 years having previously worked in Germany as well as Canada, Belgium and the Netherlands, before taking charge of North America in 2006.
His move to the US saw a refocus on the group’s core business and the development of the Nivea, Eucerin and Aquaphor brands, with Holdings playing an influential role in the double-digit growth the company has enjoyed over the last four years.
New president for North America
Holdings will be replaced as president of Beiersdorf North America by Robert Taylor-Hughes.
Taylor-Hughes joined the company in 2001 and currently holds the position of managing director of Beiersdorf, Middle East, North Africa and West Asia.
He joined the company as marketing director and has been responsible for steering the Beiersdorf brands across 17 multi-national countries within the region and increasing the company’s market share position over the past 7 years.
Elsewhere, Magnus Jonsson, currently director of marketing for Nivea for Men and Consumer Insights has been promoted to vice president of marketing, Beiersdorf, which includes oversight of the Nivea, Nivea for Men, Nivea Lip Care, Nivea Body Wash, Eucerin and Aquaphor brands.
He replaces Nicolas Maurer who was recently promoted to corporate vice president, global skincare.
Vital role in skin care
Jonsson joined Beiersdorf US in 2004 and has held several positions within the Nivea brand group of increasing responsibility: product manager, Nivea Visage; marketing manager, Nivea Body; marketing director, Nivea; and his most recent role which he has held since November 2009.
According to Beiersdorf, Jonsson has played an influential role in the development of the US brand strategy for Nivea and in turn made a significant contribution to the brand’s successful development in the US.
Jonsson is credited with the successful launches of Nivea Body Wash and Nivea Lip Care in the US, and in his latest role, for finding new ways to significantly develop the male grooming offering and re-ignite growth in related categories. His successor is yet to be named.
All of these announcements will be effective in October.
