The dispute between Applied Genetics and Oxis over technology related to a US patent has been resolved.

The Estee Lauder subsidiary had clashed with Oxis International over technology related to US patent number 6103746 and US patent number 6479533 entitled ‘Methods and Compositions for the Protection of Mitochondria’.

Estee Lauder originally filed the lawsuit on June 15 2010 at New York Southern District Court, citing a patent infringement.

The agreement allows Oxis full title of the two patents, but only under the condition that Estee Lauder will receive a non-exclusive license under both patents within the cosmetics market.

The material terms and conditions are to remain confidential pursuant to the agreement.
