Technical sessions at the HBA Global expo in New York will include ‘The anti aging path’ and ‘Cosmetical biochemistry’, as well as a revolutionary new session on ‘Skin care devices’.

Meyer Rosen, president at Interactive Consulting and chief scientific advisor & director of technical programming at HBA, told CosmeticsDesign.com USA, the technical development of formulations has caused a shift to products that are no longer synthetically made, in particular concerning anti aging, nutraceuticals and skin care.

He feels this will be an incredible opportunity for new ingredients, techniques and formulations in these areas, as they are major issues in the industry at present.

Attendee driven schedule

As part of HBA’s intense post-expo program, attendees are asked what they believe will make the following year better. A combination of previous suggestions and new industry demands make up the technical session program.

One of the most exciting sessions will introduce beauty devices and computerized techniques for altering cellular structure, entitled ‘Skin care devices’.

Natasha Gradov, founder of SkinRecharge; Dr Boris Farber, Ph.D, CEO and co-founder at American Medical Technologies; andAnna Marie Colavito, founder and CEO of Beauty and Wellness Technologies and Beauty Body Wellness Healthy Aging Centers, are confirmed speakers for the session.

Rosen was particularly keen on this workshop, as it introduces the FDA approved technology to the cosmetics industry and presents the opportunity for dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, and medical spas to adopt the technology into their own practice.

Colavito’s "Bio-Impedance Microcurrent Technology for Skin and Body Cellular Rejuvenation and Regeneration," is a presentation Rosen was keen to highlight to CosmeticsDesign.com USA, as it will introduce ideas to revolutionize Western ideology.

HBA is also excited to confirm Eric Perrier, VP R&D at LVMH parfum et cosmetiques, speaking at the anti-aging workshop. Rosen regards anti-aging as a key factor at this years event, due to more people getting to their senior years with an active interest in cosmetics.

The ‘Cosmetical biochemistry’ session will focus heavily on the science of the skin and making it look and feel good, with in depth understanding from Clinique, Weill Cornell College, St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, and Estee Lauder.

The technical conference takes place on September 28-30, 2010, full details available at www.hbaexpo.com.
