Packaging supplier MWV has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for fragrance products and dispenser systems that incorporate its NoC dip tubes.

The company says that the NoC dip tube was the first of its kind to use light refracting technology to make the tube almost invisible.

In addition to the aesthetic benefits, the use of an invisible dip tube in a fragrance bottle means that counterfeit products can be easily identified, according to MWV.

A U.S. patent is expected to be issued from the Notice of Allowance in March 2010, and related patent applications are pending in the U.S. and other countries.
