PCPC appoints new president and CEO

Bailey left the PCPC last December to head up the Grocery Manufacturers Association, and Westine will take up the position in May, when she will relinquish her post as president and CEO TechNet, a networking association for technology executives.

During the interim period Mark Pollack, a veteran member of the Council, has been serving as the stand-in president, and will return to his position as executive vice president once he has handed over the reigns to Westine.

Expert in political agenda public policy​

In her current position Westine has directed day-to-day operations, spearheaded strategic planning and developed the organization’s political agenda and public policy – experience that puts her in good stead for the position at the PCPC.

Describing her as one of the country’s most innovation-driven executives, PCPC chairman Dan Brestle said Westine has been chosen for her ‘extraordinary’ leadership skills.

“Her association and bipartisan political experience position her as the ideal leader and a natural fit for the cosmetic and personal care products industry,”​ said Brestle.

Innovation leads the march​

He also added that Westine’s clearly demonstrated skill in the field of innovation would be a significant asset in a fast moving industry that has itself been built on innovation.

Westine has also served as the White House director of Public Liaison from 2001 – 2005, a position that saw her acting as chief liaison to consultancy groups, national trade associations and non-profit organizations.

As well as developing working relationships with opposing advocacy groups in this position, she also directed women’s outreach programs as well as negotiating on US trade agreements.
