New York-based fragrance and flavor supplier IFF has appointed Christophe de Villeplee as vice president of fine fragrance and beauty care.

Mr de Villeplee has been with the company for ten years working most recently as regional head of North American fragrances.

The newly created position of vice president of fine fragrance and beauty care will see de Villeplee with full responsibility for developing and executing strategies in the sector.

In addition, IFF hopes that the creation of the new role will help strengthen the relationship between fine fragrance and beauty care.

"Given Christophe's extensive experience in the fragrance industry, in his new role he will further strengthen our focus and alignment and help IFF deliver even greater benefits to our customers globally," said Nicolas Mirzayantz, Group President, Fragrances.

New head for fragrance R&D

The appointment follows shortly after Dr Ahmet Baydar took on the role of head of fragrance research and development.

He has extensive experience within the industry and specifically within the personal care fragrance area and was chosen by the company for his proven record for driving innovation, and increasing profitability and growth.

"He has a natural talent for building long-term strategic alliances which will serve him well in his new position. In addition, his extensive global R&D, personal care and fragrance experience will help our customers to grow their brands," said Mirzayantz.
