Tapping into the big rise in natural personal care ranges for babies and expectant mothers Honey Dew Skin Care is extending its prenatal range.

The new addition is the Leg Up Foot lotion, which targets the swollen feet and ankles that pregnant women often suffer from.

The new product will be availabe by mid-November and will be featured in Nordstrom department stores nationwide.

Natural ingredients

The foot lotion includes a host of natural-based ingredients, including aloe vera, noted for its soothing and anti-inflamation properties, together with other calming ingredients such as cucumber and mint.

The lotion is said to cool and detoxify the feet and ankle area, with the all-natural plant extracts helping to reduce swelling, encourage fluid draining, and stimulate circulation.

Greater awareness of the effects of the harsh chemicals often contained in personal care products is pushing both expectant mothers and parents of new-born babies to plump for personal care products that are free of parabens and petroleum-based ingredients, as well as synthetic colors, fragrances and dyes.

Dangers of parabens

Likewise, an increasing number of scientific studies have claimed that ingredients such as parabens can have an effect on the development of unborn babies, affecting the reproductive organs of baby boys.

Bearing this in mind, the makers of the Honey Dew range say that all of its products have been specifically formulated with the specific needs of pregnant mothers in mind, by choosing the safest and most natural ingredients.

Recently Kline Group pointed to the clear switch by mothers-to-be and parents of young babies to products that are natural or organic as being one of the main driving forces behind the double-digit growth that has characterized the organic and natural personal care category over the past five years.
