Vegetable oil specialist Seatons has added four new citrus seed oils to its range, extending its reach in the emollient ingredients category.

The new additions include Orange Seed Oil, Lemon Seed Oil and Graprefruit seed oil, which together provide formulators with clearly distinct individual aromas of citrus fruits, the company claims.

The oils have been sourced from different citrus seeds, including Mediterranean Limes, Ligurian lemons, oranges from Southern Spain and Cypriot grapefruits

Naturally-derived

All naturally-derived, each of the citrus oils are said to evoke the specific characteristics of the individual citrus fruit seeds they have been extracted from.

The company says that the lemons and limes evoke ‘astringency’ with an added hint of sweetness, whereas the oranges conjure up images of a healthy lifestyle, and the grapefruit has a very distinctive zing

But as well as the outstanding sensorial properties, the oils are said to provide good emollient properties, whether they are used alone or in combination with a more complex formula.

Launched worldwide this Autum

The company says that the range is due to be launched worldwide during the course of the Autumn, adding that samples are already available for formulators to test.

Seatons, which is a division of Croda, is well placed to tap into two key driving forces in the cosmetics and toiletries market at the moment – anti-ageing and the market for natural based products.

The company has been supplying oils to a host of different markets since 1840 and has now established itself as a key global player.
