Name change for California skin care maker
in a move that is said to better reflect the company's SilkSkin
brand.
At the same time the company has also announced that it has moved its distribution center to a new location in Las Vegas, where it will benefit from high-tech efficiencies. The company has developed its product range entirely around the SilkSkin brand and stated that the name change was a natural progression towards a more recognizable and better defined brand. Name change reflects the business "The new corporate name also more accurately reflects who we are," said Bob Sidell, who founded the company back in 1985. "The company was founded in California and still maintains an office in the Los Angeles area, but we've had an office and distribution center in Las Vegas since 1998." Reflecting the company's new public image, it says it has also designed a new company logo, featuring what is described as a 'large, free flowing 'S' overlayed with the words SilkSkin'. SilkSkin range includes over 80 products The SilkSkin skin care brand has been developed into a range of over 80 different products and currently has sales amounting to $10m a year. The range includes the Duo skin care treatment, a microdermabrasion product, anti-aging products, as well as a range of make-up products. The company has built the business as a mail order based venture and now derives most of its sales through its internet site, underlining the importance of its Las Vegas-based distribution center.
