Parflux Fragrances CEO Neil Katz has been appointed to the board of
directors for the Fragrance Foundation, a move that stresses his
influence within the industry and the strengthened position of the
company.

Katz has extensive experience in both the fragrance and cosmetic industries, having cut his teeth at Liz Claiborne Cosmetics as well as Revlon Beauty Care division, before going on to head up independent industry projects, including luxury cosmetics licensing business Gemini Cosmetics. He is also credited with playing a pivotal role in negotiations that took place to safeguard the future of Parlux Fragrances earlier this year, after a boardroom struggle and administration difficulties almost resulted in the company being de-listed from the New York Stock Exchange. In fact Katz is rejoining the foundation's board of directors, having served on it from 1996 to 2002, during which time he served as vice chairman from 2000 - 2002. In a press statement Parlux stated that Katz's appointment reflected both his standing within the industry, as well as the company's new direction, emphasizing innovation and forward thinking. The Fragrance Foundation serves as a platform to promote the US fragrance industry on a global basis and its members includes fragrance manufacturers and suppliers, together with media and advertising companies involved in marketing, as well as packaging manufacturers. It was established in 1949 by industry leaders from companies including Elizabeth Arden, Coty, Guerlain, Helena Rubenstein and Chanel and is a non-profit organization with a strong emphasis on education
