The PCITX mid-year conference is set to open its doors in New York
City next week with a series of presentations that will discuss the
latest progress for ingredients together with technologies.

The organizers of the conference say that the event has been designed to reveal the newest technologies to be cultivated in remote areas of the industry or currently being developed in laboratories.

The High Performance Ingredients & Emerging Technology Conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, New York City, April 18-19, and is being produced in association with the Health And Beauty America show, which is scheduled to take place in New York in September.

This event is the fourth annual technical conference to be staged by the organizers, and last year it attracted 145 attendees who unanimously indicated that they wanted the event to be repeated this year.

Key note addresses will include Harvey Gedeon, senior vice predident for R&D at Estee Lauder, who will be speaking on 'Globalization and Cosmetic Formulation: Challenges and Opportunities'.

This presentation will cover the global challenges facing cosmetic chemists, focusing on the scientific and technical obstacles, as well as the regulatory and global market difficulties that can often make this aspect of the industry seem like a mine field.

Elsewhere, Shyam Gupta, president of Bioderm Research, will give a presentation entitled 'Endless Youth: Extracellular & Intracellular Regeneration Via Natural Ingredients'.

This presentation will look at the consumers current fixation with maintaining youthful looks and how this may be achieved through modulating the chemistry of skin tone and cellular inflammation.

Rhodia is also participating, with its personal care lab manager Regan Crooks speaking about 'Multi-Functional Benefits of New Technologies in Styling - More Than Fixatives'.

This presentation will look at how consumers expect hair styling products to deliver more than just fixative properties and how the industry is meeting this challenge. This focus will see a deeper discussion on how polymers are playing a key role in developing this segment.

Other companies making key speeches at the event will include Active Organics, Adeva, Royal Aromatics and Symrise.
