Nature's Gate launches new high purity formulas

The company has launched a series of new products for the sun,
skin, hair, oral and baby care sectors that have been formulated
for added performance and purity in answer to increasing demands
for natural-based and functional products.

The Los Angeles-based personal care provider, which specializes in products developed using natural ingredients, is aiming to up its image with a host of new products that feature sharper packaging.

The launches were unveiled at the recent Natural Products Expo West, which was held in California last week and attracted more than 3,000 exhibitors featuring a wide spectrum of natural and organic health products.

"These new introductions are part of a continued phase of rapid and sustained growth for our company," said Paddy Spence, president of Levlad/Nature's Gate.

"We are introducing exciting new product lines with breakthrough ingredients, expanding existing lines, and reaching a broader swath of consumers than ever before," he added.

The company featured a number of new products at its exhibition stand, which were claimed to be industry firsts. These include one of the first organic botanical certified SPF products on the market that is free of preservatives and dermatologist-tested to provide anti-aging benefits.

Other 'firsts' included a fine fragrance line made from organic alcohol, as well as a fine fragrance line formulated with 100 per cent certified organic alcohol, a microdermabrasion system made with natural exfolient agents, a baby line featuring organic cotton and a natural acne treatment for the body, containing Salicylic Acid and Tea Tree Oil.

With increasing awareness about parabens and their potentially harmful effects, the company is also been keen to stress the fact that all of its new lines are completely free of any type of paraben.

The paraben chemical family is commonly used by personal care formulators to impart antiseptic and preservative qualities in formulas. In recent years a number of scientific studies have linked the chemical family to cancers - particularly breast cancer in women.

As a result manufacturers have been moving away from parabens, with ingredients providers going for natural or less harsh alternatives.

The company says that it is also launching a complete sun and hair care line, under the Organic Advanced Care umbrella, with the hair care line concentrating on anti-aging and colored hair treatment and the sun care focusing on SPF 30 lotions to self-tanning products.

The Advanced Care line also extends to general skin care, together with the microdermabrasion system and oral care products that include toothpaste and mouthwash in peppermint and raspberry Mint varieties.

The complete range has also been updated on the company's website, which supplies the US market only.
