Polish personal care manufacturer Bielenda Kosmetyki Naturalne has
switched to a foam pump from Rieke Packaging Systems, Englass for
use in a range of feminine hygiene products due to its cost
competitiveness and ready availability in a standard format, said
the company.

The product range, which is to be sold throughout Poland and Russia, was initially launched with a different pump, but the manufacturers decided to switch to Rieke Packaging System's RF08 dispenser.

"We needed an attractive and extremely user-friendly dispenser that would easily fit our existing PET bottle," said Iwona Trzos of Bielenda. "The RF08 is practical, simple to use and will help to maintain our brand's image and reputation."

UK based Rieke Packaging Systems, which entered the cosmetics packaging market in recent years, also supplies dispensers to a range of other industry sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and janitorial.

Its RF08 dispenser draws the product from the container and mixes it with air at the dispensing point so that it foams without the use of traditional aerosol technology, said the company.

"A non metal contact construction means the dispensers are compatible with a wide range of product formulations and ingredients, as some product formulations can react and change due to contact with metallic springs used in some pumps," said the company's Lorna Marsh.

The dispenser, which can be used for applications such as soaps, hair products and facial washes, has a shower resistant specification, due to the design of the venting system, and this reduces possibility of microbiological contamination, Marsh told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com.

Rieke's RF08 foam pump has also been used by Californian-based skin and suncare manufacturer St Tropez, in its All Body Self-Tanning Mousse, said the company.

Other Rieke dispensers suitable for the personal care industry include the company's RS3 and RS5 lock-down dispensers, designed to fit a range of bottles and neck finishes. Releasing a dose of 1-5ml, the valves can handle products of varying consistencies from free-flowing lotions to thicker soaps and creams.

The company's airless dispenser range can also be used for creams, lotions and gels, suitable for hair and skincare products and men's ranges. The dispensers, which feature a pre-assembled one piece follower piston and are designed to pump air via a special valve system, are ideal for air and oxygen sensitive products, said the company.
