Coty's latest fragrance hits European and Asian shelves this
Monday, featuring the image and name of football hero David
Beckham, following a deal that was penned with his wife Victoria
Beckham back in February.

Aged 30, The Real Madrid and England football star has been in the sporting spotlight for well over decade now. But like most sports superstars nearing the end of their active sporting career, sponsorship deals, often with cosmetic and personal care companies, are a way of ensuring future financial security.

Called David Beckham Instinct, the eau de toilette is derived from notes of grapefruit, mandarin leaf, cardamon seeds and patchouli, stated an AP report.

Coty describes it as having "a personality both unconventional and uncompromising… that reinvents the codes of elegant masculinity."

The fragrance will retail for £15 ( for the 30ml bottle and £30 for the 75 ml bottle.

The fragrance is expected to meet with significant consumer demand and its launch has been timed to coincide with the run up to the Christmas holiday season. Indeed CosmeticsDesign.com has already received a number of enquiries from consumers eager to get their hands on the fragrance.

England international footballer David Beckham and his pop star wife Victoria have made a significant mark in the fashion industry over the course of the last few years, endorsing a number of big brands including Ray Ban and Adidas, as well as a number of clothing lines supporting their names.

Although the exact terms and value of the deal were not announced, industry experts believe that, in line with all current star endorsements, it will be a multi billion dollar contract that will tie the couple into a series of promotional events and the possibility of further endorsements in the future.

The couple have decided to turn their considerable influence in the fashion world onto a global cosmetics industry that is currently valued at over $200 billion. Victoria Beckham recently announced that she would probably be putting her singing career on hold in an effort to concentrate her energies on the Beckham Beauty House.
