Noveon has appointed Lipscomb Chemical Company as the distributor
for a number of its leading derivative ingredients in the US
market. The move forms part of Noveon's aim to broaden its
portfolio for the personal care category.

Lipscomb will be concentrating distribution on Methyl Glucoside Derivatives, which include Noveon's Glucam, Glucamate, Glucate and Gluquat products; Formulation Additives - including Promulgen, Propal, Promyr and Chemonic products; as well as Lanolin and Lanolin Derivatives - which accounts for Acetulan, Modulan, Solulan, and Vilvanolin products.

All of these chemicals are commonly used by leading manufacturers in the US personal care industry.

The Lipscomb's distribution channels include the states of California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah - an area where a number of large-scale cosmetic production sites are located. The agreement came into effect at the beginning of this month.

Lipscomb has been based in Long Beach, California since 1974, and has built up it business serving the Western Region for a number of major business categories. It has also served as the distributor for many of Noveon's personal care ingredients, including Carbopol polymers since 2002.

The latest agreement extends Noveon's move into what company spokesman Mitch Graham refers to as "the company's innovative product portfolio for the personal care industry".

Noveon is a leading global producer of advanced specialty chemicals, polymer-based formulations, and chemical additives for a broad range of consumer and industrial applications. It has some of the industry's most recognized brand names, including Carbopol rheology modifiers, TempRite CPVC, Estane TPU, and Hycar reactive liquid polymers.

The firm's products are used in major markets, including consumer specialties, coatings, specialty materials, and food and industrial specialities.
