Church & Dwight Elects Craigie President & CEO

The maker of Arm & Hammer toothpaste, Church & Dwight, has
elected a new president and chief executive officer. James Craigie,
who also takes a seat on the board, will succeed Robert Davies, who
will remain as chairman.

Manufacturer of personal care and household products Church & Dwight said the management changes would be effective from 6 July 2004.

Craigie had previously been president and chief executive officer of Spalding Sports Worldwide. He had been recruited to that post by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts in 1998 to spearhead a turnaround of the athletic equipment manufacturer and marketer.

In that post, he led the restructuring and re-positioning of the company, and brought forward a number of new product initiatives for its various brands. The company ultimately was sold in late 2003 through three transactions to maximize shareholder value.

Davies said: "The board of directors is extremely pleased to have Jim Craigie bring his extensive experience and success in consumer marketing and strong leadership talent to Church & Dwight as we continue to grow."

Craigie added: "I am excited to be joining Church & Dwight to work with Bob Davies and the management team as we continue to build on the company's impressive track record."

Davies, who re-joined the company in 1995 as president and chief executive officer, and was elected chairman and chief executive officer in 2001.
