With the global economy now showing clear signs of picking up merger and acquisition activity has followed suit this year, which is putting the spotlight on some of the more interesting and innovative emerging brands.
A number of significant deals have been brokered so far in 2014, including L’Oreal’s NYX acquisition, Henkel buying up three new US hair care brands and Merck snapping up Coppertone and Dr. Scholl’s.
Big names such as L’Oreal and Estee Lauder have emerged from the financial downturn relatively unscathed thanks to smart business strategies. And all this means that there is a considerable sum in the war chest, should the right opportunity present itself.

Cosmetics Design spoke to market research experts at Kline Group to find out which brands and companies its experts believe we should be looking out for in the coming months.
