LATAM Beauty Brands Profile: Korean brands with a natural twist
Although this type of product is not new in other parts of the world, it is still relatively novel in the Latin American region, where trends in the cosmetics and personal care market appear a little bit later than the faster-paced developed markets in North America, Western Europe and parts of Asia.
This selection of new product launches from across the Latin American region has been selected from Mintel's Global New Product Database, and reflects how this trend is starting to emerge in the leading markets there.
Reflecting growing product diversity
But despite the fact that the LATAM market has been late to pick up on the global trends impacting the industry, these products still reflect an important and growing diversity, giving consumers in the region choices that have not been seen before.
The new launches reflect a growing middle class in many countries, and many of these consumers want to try out their new-found spending power by experimenting with more innovative products.
"While face mask and lip balm launches may be inspired by K-beauty trends, we see that brands are adjusting these trendy products to reflect the needs of the consumers," said Mintel beauty and personal care analyst Alison Gaither.
"These products are inspired by Korean beauty, but with a natural twist. All products are either natural or free from harmful ingredients such as silicones and parabens."
