Bye-bye Polyethylene: XFoliPEARL™CC10 - Natural Alternative to Synthetic Micro beads

Awareness of polyethylene beads commonly used in personal care products has increased over the past year as attention to their impact on the environment has undergone extreme media coverage.  These beads are not biodegradable and have a serious impact on marine life, pollute lakes and oceans, and are harmful for aerial and aquatic animals.

In response to this need of biodegradable micro-particles, Kemin designed, in-house, with its unique and sophisticated technology, Spray Freezing Process, XFoliPEARL™CC10: a biodegradable, stable and natural replacement for plastic micro-particles. XFoliPEARL™CC10 is free-flowing, pale-white and spherical beads made from two rigorously selected natural waxes: Candelilla and Hydrogenated Castor oil, making it a gentle exfoliating and effective cleansing agent. Each fine particle of XFoliPEARL™CC10 maintains extreme consistency, staying smooth and uniform with an optimized size of 149-595 microns and melting point of 84°C. XFoliPEARL™CC10 is even compatible with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide allowing its incorporation into acne treatment formulas.
