The Rejuveness Collection is Unilever’s first US collection of affordable skin care formulated with retinol.

“At a time when many Americans are looking for cost-effective products that deliver on what they promise, we are thrilled to offer this option for daily skincare routines,” says Dawn Hedgepeth, Vice President of Marketing for POND'S, in a recent media release about the launch.

"With over 150 years of proven skin care innovation, POND'S has the expertise to deliver real results at an affordable price,” emphasizes Hedgepeth.

POND’S new Rejuveness Collection of anti-aging skin care priced at $7.99

The new anti-aging line comprises three products: a Lifting & Brightening Eye Cream, a Skin Tightening Serum, and an Advanced Hydrating Night Cream. Each of which retails for $7.99. And according to the media release, the collection has distribution throughout the US at Walmart, Target, and other mass retailers and drugstores.

Unilever has launched the POND’S Rejuveness Collection to reach the at-mass market with a retinol product. The eye cream, serum, and night cream are all formulated with what Unilever calls a retinol complex as well as with vitamin B3.

Dermatologist and POND'S spokesperson Dr. Shari Marchbein talks a bit further about the formulations, saying, “I am so excited about the launch of POND'S first retinol range for the face, eyelids and neck, which is combined with Niacinamide.”

“It is one of my favorite powerhouse antioxidants,” she says, “because it helps even skin tone, address dark spots and make the skin look brighter and radiant.”

Anti-aging skin care isn’t as popular at it once was, but it’s still in demand

In recent years, there have been significant changes and shifts in anti-aging; today benefits, brands, and consumer expectations lean more toward well-aging and ageless beauty.

So-called anti-aging ingredients like retinol make more sense now in the protection and prevention categories. For instance, Unilever competitor P&G has seen success with its Olay Retinol24 product line over the past year. The brand, marketed to millennial consumers, was launched in Asia in April after months of promising sales here in the US, as Cosmetics Design-Asia Editor Amanda Lim reported.

And ingredient makers, like Sabina are sharing ingredient data that positions would-be anti-aging inputs in the skin protection category as well. The title of an article that company scientists published in the open-access peer-reviewed journal Cosmetics this year illustrates as much: Skin Protective Activity of LactoSporin—the Extracellular Metabolites from Bacillus Coagulans MYCC 5856.
