Two of the world’s biggest ingredients suppliers have formed a partnership in the Latin American region that aims to deliver nature-derived, label-friendly and functional ingredients to the region’s personal care industry.

Thanks to the agreement, Univar Solutions Beauty & Personal Care Latin America division will now supply Cargill Beauty’s extensive portfolio of nature-derived ingredients throughout the LATAM region, where fast growth is being seen in countries like Mexico, Chile and Colombia.

The agreement between the two companies builds on a long history of partnerships between the two companies, and makes Cargill Beauty products available to all manufactures in the Latin America region.

Expansive portfolio of products

Currently Cargill Beauty’s portfolio includes texturizers, emulsifiers, emollients, sensory enhancers, bioactive and base ingredients, all of which contain individual products that touch on the nature-derived theme.

“Cargill has been a key strategic partner to Univar Solutions for many years, so we are excited to further collaborate,” said Jorge Buckup, President, Univar Solutions South America.

“Our partnership with Cargill reinforces Univar Solutions’ commitment to innovation by enhancing our offering with unique and more sustainable ingredients.”

Technical expertise adds to nature-derived portfolio

Executives at Univar believe that the company is well placed to support Cargill Beauty’s ambitions to expand in the Latin American region, thanks to its extensive technical expertise in cosmetic and personal care formulation.

Edson Zicari, business director for beauty and personal care at Univar Solutions South America believes that this expertise, combined with Cargill’s nature-derived offerings will help serve to develop a new generation of product formulations in the region.

“This partnership provides a solid foundation to bring our unique and differentiated nature-derived, label-friendly and highly functional offering to the global personal care market,” said Tony Jaillot, general manager, Cargill Beauty.
