Silgan’s latest offerings are a product of the time, really. The always fast-paced beauty industry has sped up in recent years, thanks in part to all things digital and the rise of agile indie brands. And environmental sustainability is a priority across the board.
In our video interview with Anne Echard, global product manager of fragrance at Silgan Dispensing, she describes the company’s new XpresService by Silgan and how it can help customers with speed to market. “We’re leveraging our expertise, with a great sense of priority, to offer some reliable and easy solutions to offer full satisfaction to our customer,” Echard tells Cosmetics Design editor Deanna Utroske; noting that with ready-made metal color options this service “can save around 6 weeks” time.
“We can accommodate [fragrance makers] on their most creative development, including spray caps or we have also developed laser-deco-marking decoration inhouse, which is also a way to offer them customization much faster,” adds Echard.
And when discussing the need for more sustainable packaging options, she emphasizes that “Sustainability now is not a matter of trend, it’s at a critical point …and all the brand owners take that as a top priority.”
The demand for refillable and recyclable solutions led to the company’s Melodie Pirouette, which Echard describes as an “eco-conscious solution” –and one that end consumers will likely respond favorably towards. The company’s own market research shows that “globally, 75% of respondents favored a sustainable solution for their fragrance packaging and were very interested in refillable or recyclable solutions,” according to an item on about the Melodie Pirouette design on the Silgan Dispensing blog.
