France-based ingredients player Gattefossé says it will use the
forthcoming In-Cosmetics show as a launch pad for two new
anti-ageing ingredients.

The ingredients are a general anti-ageing formulation as well as an eye contour treatment aimed at tackling the specific problems associated with the more delicate skin around the eye area. The company's general anti-aging formulation, Gatuline In-Tense, is said to stimulate the biomechanical functions of the fibroblasts. Targeting fibroplasts in anti-ageing fight A fibroblast is a type of skin cell that synthesizes and maintains the structure of the extracellular matrix, helping to maintain the structural integrity of the skin's dermal layer, ultimately helping to keep it firm and taught. The company says that the formulation helps to reorganize the architecture of the dermis, helping to add integrity to the structure and reinforce it. This means that 'the density and firmness of the skin are then rapidly enhanced, leading to a reduction in skin roughness', the company claims, adding that the effect is measurable from the first application. Eye contour ingredient targets dark circles and bags Known as Cytobiol Lumin-Eye, the eye contour formulation is a brand new active ingredient that has been specially developed to address dark circles and puffiness often associated with older skin types. The company claims that the ingredient is a 'true anti-age cocktail', with its efficacy being pin-pointed to the fact that it helps to relieve congestion of the skin, in turn helping to stimulate the micro-circulation associated with these under-eye conditions. Test results indicate better colouration In vivo tests carried out by the company claim that the ingredient helps to improve the intensity of colouration around the eye area by 32 per cent , thanks mainly to the fact that the ingredient targets the yellowish characteristic associated with dark circles. Likewise, the test also showed that the ingredient helped to reduce eye bags by up to 35 per cent after 28 days of treatment. Gattefossé will be highlighting these innovations at booth E156 at the In-Cosmetics show, held in Amsterdam, 15 - 18 April. The company will also be exhibiting at the show's In-Focus feature, where it will be sharing its vision of 'Utopia' with the industry.
