A self-heating cleansing body wipe for use in hospitals and by
consumers looking for hygiene on the move has been released by
US-based Donovan Industries.

The company, which specializes in disposable hygiene products, claims that the product is the world's first self-heating body cleansing system. Redi+Wash: Total Self Heating Bathing System has been designed for anyone lacking traditional bathing facilities, such as campers, travellers and government field officers, according to the company. Wipes heat in 1-2 minutes The wipe heats up in the packet in 1-2 minutes due to the Temp Troll Modulated Chemical Heating System without needing an outside heat source, stated the company. The wipe then keeps warm for up to 20-30 minutes providing a large warm washcloth measuring 9" x 13". Cleansing is provided by a non-rinse hypo-allergenic solution containing Aloe and Vitamin E, stated the company. Furthermore the material of the wipe has been designed to be particularly soft so as to not cause irritation and the product is latex and alcohol free. The wipes will come in packets of five or eight and will retail at approximately $5. The Florida-based company specializes in providing products for institutions and care givers, offering a range of skin care, baby care, oral care and shaving products. Market diversifies from its baby care roots The global market for wipes has traditionally been dominated by baby care products, however recent years have seen an increase in the number of cleansing wipes for adult consumers. The majority of the big players now offer some kind of cleansing or make up removing wipe, although a self heating version for all body cleansing is a novel variation.
