Dow Corning unveils enhanced skin feel emollient
FZ-3196, said to bring about a unique skin feel when
added to a wide range of skin care formulations.
The company says the ingredient is appropriate for color make-up, skin and sun care formulas, helping to bring about a skin feel that is 'light and silky with moderate volatility upon spreading'. The ingredient is also said to offer excellent compatability with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients, such as natural oils, helping to reduce tackiness and the greasy feel often associated with a variety of oils used in formulation. Likewise, it aims to deliver particularly effective dispersing ability and performance as a carrier for other ingredients. The company emphasises that the ingredient is based on a caprylyl branched trisiloxane. The siloxane consists of three silicon atoms which is the shortest Dimethicone, and octyl group is attached on the middle silicon. Dow Corning is currently highlighting the launch of the ingredient at the In-Cosmetics show in Paris, which opened its doors to the industry yesterday and runs until tomorrow. The company says it will also be highlighting the recent launch of its CE 0101 Wipes Lotion, a solution that has been specifically designed for wet wipes applications. The lotion has been based on the company's 7-3100 Gum Blend HP Emulsion, together with Arlatone V-150 - a combination that is said to increase formulation flexibility and impart increased efficacy for active ingredients. Further to this, the company is also highlightening newly developed hair strengthening solutions on the stand. Last year the company also used the In-Cosmetics show to highlight a number of newly launched ingredients, including its 'next generation' thickening agent based on multifunctional silica particles.
