The move could help company's tailor the development of their personal care products according to specific needs such as hair and skin type, allergies and medical conditions.

The software, known as PathwayStudio 4.0, can be programmed with an individuals complete genetic profile, enabling it to allow for any type of specific consumer needs, allowing all purchases to be designed around specific criteria, whether it be cosmetics, food, drink or medical treatments, for example.

The software could be programmed to take into consideration an individual's skin coloring or type, in order to determine specific skin care regimes, or, equally could be used to determine how products might be developed to avoid specific allergies.

According to the manufacturers, the software enables life science researchers to interpret their discoveries in the context of biological pathways and gene regulation networks, making it easy to identify relationships among genes, small molecules, cell processes and treatments, reconstruct pathways from microarray andproteomics data, identify biomarkers, and model drug responses.
The software comes with ResNet database of up to 700,000 functional relationships and over 1000 newly reconstructed pathways, and MedScan Reader biomedical literature browser that facilitates the reading of scientific text by automatically extracting and displaying the information of interest.
