The 2015 Cosmetics Compliance Seminar will be held in San Francisco, California this Spring and will focus on bringing the industry up to speed on the latest in regulation and consumer litigation.

Organized by California law company Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard, the event will take place between April 17 – 18 at the Marines' Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco, and will focus on how increased regulation from various authorities and litigation from consumers is affecting cosmetics and personal care companies.

The event will be chaired by Angela Diesch, law practitioner, cosmetic industry regulatory expert, and a shareholder in the Kronick law firm, who will also be heading up two question and answer sessions as well as a panel discussion on global regulatory concerns.

Focus on the regulation of organic cosmetics

Diesch will open up the one and a half day conference program with a welcome presentation, and will then go on to give a key note presentation about the latest developments concerning the regulation of the organic cosmetics category.

In the presentation she will touch upon the merits of organic certification, when it is and is not worth pursuing certification, together with some of the uncertainties regarding litigation in this area.

Tying up this segment on organic cosmetics, there will also be another follow-on presentation that will focus the most important how and why aspects of organic certification for cosmetic products.

Full program of presentations from leading experts

The rest of the program will include a total of nine other presentations on various aspects of cosmetics regulation, including California laws, trademark and intellectual property, distributor agreements, safety assessments, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, labeling, consumer litigation, Canadian regulation, and the Sunscreen Innovation Act.

Speakers that have already been confirmed will include Gordon Greenwood, managing partner of Maclaren Corlett, Gay Timmons, founder of Oh, Oh Organic, Peg Carew Toledo, partner with the Toledo Don LLP and Ilene Block and Jennifer Scott, also from the Kronick Moskovitz Tiedmann & Girard law firm.

It should be noted that early bird prices for attendees are in effect until January 15, 2015, while more details about the event program and how to make a reservation can be seen by clicking here.
