Allergan drops lawsuit with Dermaquest
Pharmaceutical company Allergan has dropped an alleged patent infringement lawsuit against DermaQuest Skin Therapy's eyelash enhancing product.
The company has challenged a number of companies, including Jan Marini Skin Research, over the active ingredients contained in these eyelash growth promoting products.
The ingredients in question are prostoglandin based ingredients which Allergan felt infringed on its patented drug Lumigan.
However, the pharmaceutical company has confirmed that DermaQuest's product, DermaLash, does not contain any ingredients or drugs infringing on its patent.
Bee Movie settles dispute
The makers of the recent Bee Movie, Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks, have settled a dispute with cosmetics company BeeCeuticals.
The cosmetics company claimed to have trademarked the slogan 'Give bees a chance' in October 2006; arguing that the subsequent use of the slogan on the advertising posters for the film was an infringement.
In November last year the Beeceutical's attorney Elliot Zimmerman told Associated Press that the movie studios had no right to use the company's slogan.
He said their actions had affected the sales of Beeceuticals' products and the extent of the financial damage was currently being calculated.
According to press reports the studio bosses settled the dispute with the Florida-based cosmetics company earlier this week; however details of the settlement have not been released.
