As well as having a full agenda, this year’s ICMAD Technical/Regulatory Forum will focus on “Building a Bulletproof Product”.

The forum is being held at the Island Hotel, Newport Beach, California, from 8am to 5pm, on February 17th and promises to bring all participants up to speed on what’s happening in the area of cosmetics and personal care regulation, particularly in the highly regulated California market.

This year the theme is “Building a Bulletproof Product”, which, combined with the more interactive element, should give delegates the most update information they need, combined with the chance to network with the type of professionals that can also provide the necessary support.

Nine all-encompassing presentations

This year’s conference will include nine different presentations, on top of a welcome address by ICMAD president Pamela Busiek and a roundtable discussion to round the day off with any questions about the points raised throughout the day.

The presentation topics will range from a legislative update, which will also be given by Busiek, to a panel discussion specifically concerning legislation in California, SDS form completion, selling products in Canada, and getting products EU compliant.

Interactivity will be the theme for the  introduction session, which will be chaired by Craig Weiss. This session will focus on showing how regulations/litigation can affect a cosmetics and personal care business.

Getting labeling and advertising right

The morning sessions will focus on legislation issues in both the US and California, whereas the early afternoon sessions will be focused on legislation in Canada and the EU, before the sessions take a look at labelling and advertising claims.

“Labelling Do’s and Don’ts “ will be chaired by Holly Young of  H&Y Regulatory Graphics Consultants, while the session following that at 4pm will be called “Claims and Advertising – FTC, FDA and Consumer Class Actions Panel Discussion, which will feature Sharon Blinkoff, Ed Glynn, and Regina McClendon.
