Former ‘pussycat doll’ Kimberly Wyatt has joined the growing list of celebrities putting their support behind animal rights group as pressure builds for the EU to uphold the scheduled ban on the sale of cosmetics containing ingredients that were tested on animals in 2013.

Testing cosmetics on animals has been banned within the European Union (E.U.) since 2009, and another approved ban on sales is expected in 2013, but under pressure from some cosmetics companies, the EU is considering delaying that ban.

Wyatt has joined forces with campaign group PETA in the hope of encouraging the EU to uphold the ban, joining the likes of Alicia Silverstone, Kristin Bauer and former Smiths frontman Morrisey, who have all voiced their opinions on the matter.

Whilst there are currently no such bans in place in North America, PETA US sent out an action alert last year, in which more than 50,000 letters from people in the US and other countries were delivered to the European Commission imploring it to keep the deadline.
