nuNatt, has launched a line of hair care products, based on a new ingredient it says is effective at stimulating hair re-growth without the associated odor.

The NAAT Garlic Magic line is formulated with a garlic extract that is said to help cleanse the scalp of impurities and strengthens hair follicles, helping to hair growth, as well as promoting healthy, shiny hair.

The company says that the product is targeted at individuals with slow growing, oily, or fragile hair, who also suffer from associated conditions such as itchy scalp, dandruff and hair loss, while stressing that it can also be used for all hair types.

Four principal products in the line up

The line includes four principal products – a shampoo that targets growth, a condition aimed at providing softness and strength, a leave-in cream that provides frizz control and a hair mask with intense hydration claims.

All of the products contain the de-odorized garlic extract which is said to be entirely natural and the Florida-based companies is aiming to launch it in selected stores across the US in August.

Garlic has been a traditional hair care ingredient for many years, thanks to numerous hair care properties, but the associated odor has invariably held it back from becoming a mainstream ingredient in the category – an issue that the company has addressed with this launch.

Garlic contains antibiotic and antifungal properties

Garlic has been proven to contain natural antibiotic and antifungal properties, which for hair care applications means it can help contain scalp infections leading to a healthier scalp and ultimately providing the right environment for health hair growth.

One of the active properties in garlic is sulfur, which is a protein that in hair care applications acts as both a conditioner and a strengthening agent.

And according to the company, research has shown that using garlic in topical applications can actually prove more effective for hair care applications,  than using it as either a supplement or simple ingestion.
