Senior Correspondent Deanna Utroske is the guest on the latest edition of Beauty is Your Business, in which she chats with the podcast’s hosts about the indie beauty revolution, the latest ingredient trends, and much more. Take a break from the daily headlines and listen in on this lively exploration all things cosmetics and personal care.

Hosts Julie Fredrickson, co-founder and CEO of the indie brand Stowaway Cosmetics, and Stephanie Betzler, a digital strategist at product intelligence company Trendalytics, chat with Deanna Utroske about the wide range of trends and factors that are defining and redefining the business of beauty today.

Beauty is Your Business  is a production of Mouth Media Network, a podcast production team that specializes in programming about lifestyle businesses. The network’s roster of podcasts includes Fashion is Your Business, Travel is Your Business, Material is Your Business, and of course, Beauty is Your Business.

Behind the network are Pavan Bahl, CEO of Mouth Media; operations and technology pro Rob Sanchez; and media producer Marc Raco, who was on hand for the recording of the episode featuring Utroske.

The show

Overall the show is about the intersection of beauty, business, and technology—and not just podcast technology, tech as it relates specifically to the cosmetics industry. In this latest episode, Fredrickson, Betzler, and Utroske take time to mull over how biotech as well as digital tools like VR, AR, and voice-control technology are impacting the beauty business.

Listeners can subscribe to the relatively new Beauty is Your Business podcast on iTunes or click through the show’s on-site links to listen to the episodes one at a time. To date, there have been fourteen regular episodes of Beauty is Your Business (as well as a couple of bonus shows).

Among the show’s previous guests are Lindsay Knaak Stuart, founder and CEO of the body care company Meant; Lisa Marie Ringus, EVP and head of global sales for the talent agency 24 Seven (who has previously commented in a Two Views item on this site ); and fragrance expert Sue Phillips (who has also shared her insights with Cosmetics Design ).
