Gearing up for the fourth edition of the Makeup New York event

Makeup New York will open its doors for the fourth consecutive year, promising once again to be bigger than ever, thanks to more exhibitors and an expanded conference program.

This year the event will take place again at the Cente548 in Chelsea, and will feature some of the leading suppliers to the make-up and color cosmetics categories from across the world.

The doors to the two day event will open on September 23rd, and will feature three floors of exhibitors, together with the comprehensive conference program and a gala evening.

Twelve different conference presentations over two days

The draw of the conference program will include 12 different conferences, each of which will focus on different aspects of the industry, from the most recent trends in the retail category, to new packaging and formulation technology.

A keynote presentation from leading market research company, the NPD Group, will kick of the conference program on September 23rd, and is entitled ‘Overview of Color Cosmetics in the US’.

The presentation will be given by Kissura Mondesir, who will focus on the some of the most successful recent innovations in the category that are helping to drive growth right now, as well as projecting the big future trends.

Looking into the future…

The fast-moving color cosmetics is driven by both fashion and innovation, so having a good handle on what to expect in the future is crucial. ‘Looking to the Future for Inspiration’ will take place at 11:15am on the 23rd, and will see Maude Standish of Mistress Creative throw some light on what to expect.

Also on the first day will be a presentation by Florence Bernadin, of Information & Inspiration, who will be giving a presentation entitled ‘Make-up Trends in Asia (Japan and Korea) and France’, which will strive to highlight the parallels and differences in these distinctive and important markets.

Other presentations on the second day of the conference program, September 24th, will include the ‘Psychology of Color Marketing’ by Leslie Carrington of Color Association of the US, together with the final presentation in the program, ‘Luxury and Color Cosmetics’, by Leila Rochet-Podvin, of Cosmetics Inspiration & Creation.
