The announcement that Martina Gebhardt Naturkosmetiks will now be distributed in the US makes the line the very first biodynamic certified products to hit the country, it is claimed.

Idaho-based distributor Eco-Beauty Organics says that Germany-based Martina Gebhardt Naturkosmetiks, which is said to be the first and only skin care company whose entire line is Demeter-certified Biodynamic, will now be made available to customers in the U.S.

Eco-Beauty Organics says it plans to distribute the line at selected spas and health-food stores throughout the nation, from the beginning of next year.

Demeter certification growing in international recognition

The Demeter certification label is an international quality seal administered by Demeter International, a Berlin, Germany-based business focused on the food and cosmetics industries.

The certification has reputation for being difficult to acquire and has to be renewed on an annual basis. To gain certification, the product must be composed of certified Biodynamic ingredients and meet stringent processing standards.

Biodynamic farming is said to go raise the bar on organic farming by insisting that it is run on self-contained and self-sustaining principles that follow the cycles of nature.

Biodynamic products increasingly sought after in the US

According to the certifiers, biodynamic products enjoy the highest reputation in the organic sector worldwide and have become increasingly sought after in the US, where the availability of such products have so far proved to be rare.

The Martina Gebhardt Natural Cosmetics line of cosmetics is a line of herbal and aroma therapeutic skin care preparations for women, men and children of all age groups and skin types, produced with natural ingredients, including plant oils, butters, herbal extracts, spagyric essences, essential oils, floral waters, wool wax and beeswax.

However, what really makes the line stand out is the fact that more than 95 percent of the raw materials come from biodynamic contract cultivations, which means that they are formulated with the use of synthetic materials, free of GMOs and produced using hollistic and biorythmic principles, as well as being packaged in environmentally friendly glass containers.
