Dolce & Gabanna has become one of the first luxury fashion houses to launch a fragrance formulated specially for babies.
According to the company, the fragrance has been developed with the aim of enhancing and accentuating the smell of a baby, something that is often seen as an essential bonding element for parents.
The company says that the fragrance will contain sweeter notes that focus on citrus, honey and melon - all designed to compliment a baby's scent. It is being marketed with a price tag of $44.
Fragrances for children are culturally celebrated in the Latin American market, few international product launches in this category have specifically targeted babies, although big luxury brands such as Bvlgari and Burberry have launched products targeted at children.
