Oman-based luxury brand perfumery Amouage, best known for the
original fragrance of the same name created by the legendary French
perfumier Guy Robert, has launched a brand new fragrance for women,
named Esprit d'Amouage, writes Louise Sheridan.

Managing director of Amouage worldwide Chandra Lahiri officially launched the new perfume at its perfumery in Rusayl, adding to its elite perfume range of highly acclaimed Gold, Dia & Ciel collections.

The original Amouage fragrance was referred to by Guy Robert as his "crowning symphony", as it contained 120 natural ingredients and remains today one of the most complex perfume recipes in the world.

Esprit d'Amouage meanwhile is: "alive with the bright vibrant spices of bay and cardamom complimented with the vivid fruitiness of red berries and apricot. Its uplifting bouquet of rose and jasmine accented with magnolia and freesia is underlined with intriguing resins, musks and woods that create a celebration of life's every moment," said the company.

Amouage's European sales manager Wendy Hewitson declined to name the 'nose' for this new fragrance, but confirmed it had "been developed by a French fragrance house". She explained it has been designed to appeal to a younger and more individualistic market while retaining the aspirational luxury values the world associated with the Amouage name.

Ms Hewitson told cosmeticsdesign.com that the new fragrance is currently only available at selected stores and duty free outlets in the Middle East. She confirmed that is has not yet been launched in Europe but will be available exclusively in Harrods, London, from August onwards.
