With this latest cosmetics company acquisition, PDC secures its industry position further and sets the stage for international business as well.

Under the management of private equity firm Yellow Woods Partners, PDC is growing quickly and deliberately. The company has bought eight consumer brands over the past 4 years and has no plans to slow down.

“This is an important strategic milestone for the company and the first step in PDC’s long-term goal of becoming a major player in European Cosmetics and Beauty,” says Tad Yanagi, partner at Yellow Wood Partners and PDC board director.

The people and ideas behind the product are valuable to PDC as well: “The PDC management team and I are thrilled to be working with Managing Director, Simon Zussman and his team at Original Additions,” says James Stammer, CEO of PDC Brands in a company press release about the Original Additions acquisition.

“I have great admiration for Simon – he has built powerhouse cosmetic brands through creativity, innovation and an unwavering commitment to quality. We welcome the Original Additions team to PDC BRANDS,” Stammer adds.

Yellow Wood Partners has been with PDC since 2012. And in February of last year, the company that had been Parfums de Coeur received approval for its new PDC Brands trademark. Along with that rebranding, the company has been acquiring very strategically to become a comprehensive beauty player rather than a mass fragrance specialist.

Last summer PDC bought Bodycology and Cantu from Dallas, Texas–based Advanced Beauty Inc. At the time, the company believed that deal established PDC’s “position as an industry leader – bringing the best of prestige beauty and specialty retail to mass-market consumers at affordable prices.”
