Lubrizol and Essential Ingredients expand distribution partnership

The specialty chemical company and ingredients distributor have worked together here in the eastern States for 10 years, and now that relationship covers even more territory.

Essential Ingredients distributes raw materials for the personal care and cosmetics industry as well as for the household and industrial cleaning industries. The company provides not only product but also technical sales support and customer service, according the Essential Ingredients site.

Since 2007 the company has been distributing for Lubrizol in much of the eastern US. A new deal between the companies means that EI will now distribute Lubrizol’s personal and home care ingredients across the entire country.

 Announcement

In a press release issued this month, Vince Misiti, general manager of Lubrizol Personal and Home Care, explains, “We expanded Essential Ingredients territory based on their impressive track record with our products and their unique approach to the market.” Misiti goes on to emphasize the trust he and his Lubrizol colleagues have that EI can help the company better its business. “We are very confident in their ability to help us grow our business throughout the United States.”

Of course EI is pleased and confident about the expanded partnership too. “The foundation of our business is delighting customers," says Kris Maynard, CEO of Essential Ingredients, in the same press release. “Lubrizol's broad portfolio of quality products, along with their extremely capable team, has allowed us to provide our customers with great products that help them stand out in the marketplace.”

Ingenuity

Early this year, Lubrizol made another move to streamline its business in North America. All of the company’s skin care active businesses are, since mid-January, operating under the Lipotec name, as Cosmetics Design reported.

Changes like these serve to consolidate the company’s regional operations and acquired businesses, allowing the team to focus on its core competencies: “Lubrizol develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of specialty chemicals for skin, hair care, bath and shower, surface care and fabric care,” explains the release about the expanded distribution deal with EI. “Its innovative ingredients and additives modify physical properties, enhance functional performance and deliver aesthetic benefits to drive key consumer product claims.”
