Induchem AG molecules are key to new lash and brow serum

RevivLash serum is a leave-on product for both women and men formulated to augment lash and brow hair length, thickness, strength and health. The key ingredient Rendensyl is a water-soluble, two-molecule design from Induchem, which won the In-Cosmetics 2014 Silver Award for Best Personal Care Ingredient.

Distinct from competing products in the category, RevivLash is not made with prostaglandin analogues and is otherwise “formulated to reduce potential for the irritation that occurs with other eyelash restoration products,”​ according to the company’s announcement to the press.

About those molecules​
The Rendensyl ingredient is a combination of two patented molecules that target hair follicle stem cells. DHQC and EGCG2 both restart the proliferation of these cells.

The DHQG (ihydroquercetin-glucoside) molecule is an altered polyphenol from larch trees. While EGCG (glucoside) is a biotech derivative of the green tea EGCG and supports the action of DHQC as well as reduces scalp inflammation.  

Other actives in the compound include Keratinocyte Growth Factor (rh-Polypeptide-3), Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 and Octapeptide-3. “These…have thus been combined with glycine and zinc to favour the hair growth metabolism,” ​explained Cosmetics Design deputy editor Andrew McDougall, early this year in an article previewing the new ingredient in advance of its launch.

Testing​
Studies conducted by Induchem link the ingredient to significant, visible hair growth: “This active ingredient gives better results within 84 days than a hair transplantation by an aesthetics surgeon; up to +28,200 new hair (the average for a hair graft surgery is 8,000 hair),”​ explained Fabrice Lefevre, global scientific marketing manager at Induchem in advance of the ingredient launch.

A study of the new RevivSerum had 97% of respondents report longer or fuller eyelashes and 88% report thicker or fuller brows. This study lasted 60 days and was conducted with 28 participants.
