Germany-headquartered company Evonik has released new research supporting its hair conditioning ingredient Abil T Quat 60.

According to the company, the research shows that including the silicone-based ingredient into shampoos and conditioners can reduce hair follicle breakage by 60 and 88 per cent respectively.

Evonik explained that broken fibres are a significant cause for concern for consumers as they can lead to the formation of split ends, and do not align correctly leading to dull hair.
