For the latest instalment of People On The Move, we have executive industry appointments at all the major global flavor and fragrance players – Bell, IFF and Symrise.

IFF has appointed David Epstein, who is currently division Head at Novartis Pharmaceuticals to the company's Board of Directors, a position that will also see him join the company’s Audit Committee.

"David is a welcome addition to our Board. His extensive knowledge managing a global innovation-based company will complement the talent and leadership we currently have among our directors and help guide our progress as we execute our Vision 2020 business strategy," said Andreas Fibig, CEO and chairman IFF.

Based in Switzerland, Epstein joined Novartis in 1989 and has undertaken roles at Novartis that have included  vice-president of sales and marketing and integration officer for North America, culminating in the position of president and Chief Executive Officer, Oncology and Molecular Diagnostics.

Symrise makes two exec appointments

Germany-based Symrise has made two new strategic appointments to bolster its Cosmetics Ingredients division, which include Arnaud Bellon as the new senior vice president global head Botanicals and Colors, and Caroline Baptiste as global product manager for actives.

Formerly a Croda employee, Bellon is charged with refining and implementing the strategy of business development for cosmetic ingredients, botanicals and colors, Symrise states.

Baptiste’s position will see her managing the Cooling/Warming, Moisturizing and Bioactives segments within the Actives category.

Meanwhile there have been three new appointments at Illinois-based Bell flavors and fragrances, in the areas of quality control, sensory and perfumerie.

Three new appointments at Bell

Fe Geda has been appointed to the position of Quality Control Manager at the company’s Middletown facility, a position that will see her manage the day to day operations of the quality control laboratory.

Karen Graves has been appointed to the position of Sensory Director at Bell’s headquarters in Northbrook, building on twelve years of experience in sensory and consumer research, having previously worked at Kraft Foods.

And finally, Robert Siegel has been promoted to Senior Perfumer. He has an extensive background in perfumery. He began his career at Bell in 1992 as a Fragrance Lab Technician.
