This month the cosmetics maker announced two in-house appointments to strengthen the global reach of its Origins and Jo Malone London brands. One is already in effect, while the other is set to take place this fall.

Estée Lauder Companies includes numerous color cosmetics, fragrance, and skin care brands; and boasts a global reach—selling product in more than 150 countries. Leadership for each of those brands ensures the company retains its place among the top beauty leaders in the world.

Now

Effective immediately, Jean-Guillaume Trottier is global brand president for Jo Malone London.

For the past four years, he has served as that brand’s global general manager. “Under Mr. Trottier’s leadership, brand sales have doubled globally in the last three years and Jo Malone London’s unique positioning in the luxury sensorial lifestyle space has been solidified,” according to the company statement.

“Jean-Guillaume is a highly talented and creative leader who has effectively articulated Jo Malone London’s special equity as a British luxury brand for a global stage,” says John Demsey, executive group president.

“From the successful growth of the freestanding store business, to cultivating the brand’s distinctly ‘giftable’ appeal, Jean-Guillaume’s unwavering vision continues to make the brand a must-have for prestige consumers around the world.”

Next

Beginning in October, Julie Van Ongevalle will be the company’s senior vice president and global general manager for the Origins brand.

“Ms. Van Ongevalle’s strong brand leadership experience, coupled with her multi-category and retail expertise, position her well to take the helm of the Origins brand,” according to a press release about the leadership moves. “A successor for her current role will be announced at a later time.”

Van Ongevalle has worked for Estée Lauder Companies since 2004, taking on more and more leadership responsibilities as the years pass. Among her accomplishments is the launch of Origins in the Netherlands. And, she’s been integral in the global growth of MAC.

“I am thrilled Julie will be assuming the leadership of Origins. Julie is a superb brand-builder possessing a keen understanding of the highly-influential Millennial consumer, as well as valuable global expertise in digital and social media and retail dynamics,” says Jane Hertzmark Hudis, group president, adding, I am confident she will lead this extraordinary brand to its next phase of growth around the world,”

Earlier

In January, Estée Lauder Companies made other leadership shifts within its brands. Origins got a new global brand president in Stephane de la Faverie, who also at that time stepped in the same role for the company’s Darphin skin care brand.

Beth DiNardo accepted a new role as global brand president for Smashbox at the start of the year. And, Daniel Rachmanis was promoted to president of the Latin America region.
