The acquisition was finalized on December 20, last year, and the brands from the Innovachem portfolio are expected to be transitioned into the Croda portfolio during the first half of 2013. The products were previously distributed by a third party but will now be distributed by Croda.
Croda says that the addition of the business will add addition patented product technology to its range of ingredients for the personal care category, which will include the addition of two major brands- a conditioner and a line of esters.
Those brands are Panthequat, a conditioner and Liquiwax, a range of cosmetic esters.
Panthequat and Liquiwax
Panthequat has been formulated to offer the benefits of Provitamin B-5, an ingredient that is widely used in hair care formulations to give healthy looking shiny and manageable hair. It is also used in skin care formulations, to give added moisture and smoothness.
It has also been developed with substantivity imparted by a long chain quaternary, which gives is said to give it excellent rinse-off qualities.
Liquiwax is an addition to Croda’s extensive portfolio of multifunctional emollient esters, and targets enhanced skin conditioning qualities such as softening and lubrication, together with significant moisturization properties.
