Promoted from within, the new lead perfumer will bring his extensive background in the industry to bear on Bell’s personal care fragrance division.  The company has announced the hire of a new fragrance quality control manager as well.

The fragrance business at Bell serves the personal care industry with scents for bath care, hair care, skin care and sun care applications. And the company’s ingredients business includes not only aroma chemicals but also ingredients for natural chemicals, including lactones.

Senior perfumer

Robert Siegel, most previously a perfumer with Bell, has stepped up into the senior perfumer role, according to a press release sent out Friday by the company.

The release celebrates his “extensive background in perfumery.” Siegel’s first position with Bell was as a fragrance lab technician in 1992. The company statement notes that “Robert was accepted as an apprentice member of the American Society of Perfumers in 2000 and a full member in 2005.”

In 2007 he went to work with Illinois-based Orchidia Fragrances, where he stayed until early 2011, according to his LinkedIn profile. Since then he’s been a perfumer with Bell.

Siegel’s Bachelor of Science degree in Biology is from Northern Illinois University.

Quality Control Manager

Fe Geda accepted a job as Bell’s quality control manager for the Middleton, New York, fragrance manufacturing facility. In the position, “she will manage the day to day operations of the quality control laboratory,” according to the company’s press release.

Geda has over 25 years’ experience in fragrance quality control, having worked at Takasago International Corporation for some time. That company, headquartered in Japan, produces flavors and fragrances for clients internationally.

Geda holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Adamson University in Manila, Philippines.
